Isle of Man Sports & Recreation Strategy
The Isle of Man Sports and Recreation Strategy 2002-2012 was the result of extensive consultation with sports clubs and Governing Bodies of Sport, Government Ministers and Officers, Local Authorities, schools, disability groups, key sporting organisations, and the general public. The document summarises the findings and recommendations of the Strategy and the more detailed Strategy Working Document that has lead to these conclusions.
Most importantly the Strategy sets out a vision for the continued development and growth of sport on the Island over the next ten years, and the benefits that this will bring - not only to the sporting community, but to the education of young people, the health of local communities and the economy of the Island.

Tower Insurance announce major support for IOM Institute of Sport
01/10/08
Tower Insurance has announced they are donating £20,000 to the Manx Sports Aid Foundation’s ambitious Isle of Man Institute of Sport facility currently being constructed at the NSC.
In recognition of this support, Manx Sports Aid Foundation has decided that the Sports Education Suite, to be used mainly for seminars and meetings, will be known as the Tower Suite when the building opens in spring 2009.
David Stacey, Managing Director of Tower Insurance Isle of Man confirmed his company’s donation to the project:
“We have been strong supporters of the Manx Sports Aid Foundation for over 15 years. It is fantastic to see the achievements of our young men and women on the world stage of sport and this facility will lead to even better results.”
Margaret Brown, Chairman of Manx Sports Aid Foundation, stated:
“Tower Insurance is a long-time supporter of Manx Sports Aid and we are delighted it is extending its involvement even further by this major commitment to the IOM Institute of Sport".
The project is a partnership between Manx Sports Aid Foundation, the registered charity established by the Isle of Man Sports Council, the Department of Tourism and Leisure and corporate and private donors. The Institute is designed to help high performing athletes in a range of sports. Facilities will include a Strength and Conditioning Gym, a Performance Lab for fitness testing, video analysis, a Consulting Room for physiotherapy and medical treatment and a Sports Education Suite for seminars and coach education.
